As we have said on other occasions, we believe that there are few things better than pasta. But what is a good pasta without its star accompaniment? Indeed, we are talking about homemade pasta sauces, and without this key ingredient, it seems that pasta has lost its essence.

From the Hida Alimentación blog, we are going to show you some sauces that are perfect to add to your pasta recipes. Since talking about topics like these makes us “be in our element”, let’s get to it!

Bolognese sauce

This sauce is a classic among classics, if we talk about Italian pasta recipes this one cannot be missing from our repertoire.

Although the original recipe is made with minced meat (beef or pork), carrot, celery, onion, and tomato, at Hida Alimentación we have 2 more varieties of Bolognese sauce.

The first is tuna bolognese, in which we substitute the meat ingredient for tuna, in case you prefer fish to meat. The second is the Bolognese Sauce with Chorizo, a sauce in the purest Spanish style, in which the meat is maintained, but the beef or pork is substituted for chorizo.

Carbonara sauce

Another classic of Italian cuisine some people only know this and the previous sauces. They don’t know what they’re missing!

Like Bolognese, this sauce originates from Italy. Its original recipe is made with egg, parmesan cheese, bacon or pancetta, black pepper, and olive oil. A very common ingredient to add is cream, which makes the sauce thicker.

Pesto sauce

One of the sauces that you would surely recognize at any time due to its original green color. This sauce has a more intense flavor than the previous two, which is why not everyone likes it.

The original recipe has the following ingredients: ground basil leaves, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, garlic, and olive oil. Although, unlike normal pesto, there is also a red pesto that adds dehydrated tomatoes to its recipe.

There are many varieties of recipes for this sauce, as there are recipes that also include pistachios, walnuts, spinach, etc. At Hida Alimentación we have two pesto sauces: Pesto alla Genovese and pesto rosso.

Neapolitan sauce

This sauce is not very popular in our country, but its unique flavor makes it one of our best homemade pasta sauces. Neapolitan sauce also has its origins in Italy, the birthplace of pasta.

The original recipe for Neapolitan Sauce is made with garlic, olive oil, tomato, salt, pepper, and various herbs. The good thing about this sauce is that you can add more ingredients to your liking, in our case we added carrot and cornstarch, to finish giving it a personalized flavor.

Four cheese sauce

A sauce for cheese lovers. Who has never tried Parmesan or mozzarella cheese? In Italy, they love pasta and cheese, and so do we.

The good thing about this sauce is the wide variety of cheeses you can add to it depending on the flavor you like best. However, the cheeses used in the original recipe are mozzarella, parmesan, Emmental, and goat cheese, or blue cheese, depending on how intense you want it to be.

Remember that all these sauces that we have shown you on the Hida Alimentación blog have their variations and you can modify them according to your taste. However keep in mind to use the original recipe as a base.

If you don’t know which one to go for, you can try them one by one until you find your favorite. Pasta is a very healthy food and there’s nothing better than adding one of our homemade pasta sauces. They’re delicious!
